For what is worth
Clear skies, scary nights,
Needs and wants, in a fight,
Truth and lie, what’s to hide,
Right or wrong, pick a side.
Love or hate, trust or not,
Hurt and pain, it is a lot,
Heart’s insane, drugs in game,
A great escape, all in vain.
Darkness reigns, daylight hides,
Rising waves, and gushing tides,
Silent screams, and empty tears,
Apparent shame, and wasteful fears.
To live or die, run or fight,
To go down the climb, or rise to height,
Take a breath, and close your eyes,
Look around, then look inside.
A ray of hope, a shining light,
A spark to stop, and do what’s right,
Fight the odd, and make that choice,
For what is worth, always has a price.
